HAY zoekt Account Manager - Wholesale
HAY was established in 2002 as an innovative design company with the ambition of making quality contemporary design objects available to the widest possible audience. In 2018, a majority share in HAY was acquired by the American design company, MillerKnoll, whilst retaining the same company vision of collaborating with talented designers from all over the world to create functional and refined designs. HAY currently employs approximately 280 staff in Denmark and has 31 stores throughout Europe, Asia and USA.
About the job
As our new Account Manager, you will have an exciting opportunity to develop brand awareness, sales activities and strengthen our relationships with our wholesale dealers in the Netherlands. This is a field sales role and you will be expected to be attending meetings daily, with use of our beautiful showroom as a base.
In this exciting role, you will promote HAY and further establish the brand in the wholesale market. Combining your specialist knowledge, experience and positive mindset, you will look after existing partnerships and expand the HAY network to promote sales. You will develop, maintain and expand our customer relations with the ambition of growing our sales performance. Your focus will be on customer-centric sales efforts, and you will be working closely together with six other dedicated colleagues from our showroom in Amsterdam.
More specifically, your tasks will include:
- Acquire knowledge of HAY‘s sales strategy and build up the competencies to be able to handle wholesale customers and projects independently
- Strengthen and expand the sales activities for HAY wholesale sales in the Netherlands
- Develop the collaboration with both existing and new HAY wholesale dealers
- Execute on selected sales efforts including cold calling on project opportunities, presentations and relationship building
- Develop and maintain an independent project portfolio, including coordinating and executing activities in connection with presentations, tenders and deliveries
- Identify business opportunities
- Actively contribute to a strong collaboration across the Benelux sales team

You have a strong sales background ideally with experience working with Wholesale dealers. You are a driven self-starter who thrives by working independently and is energised by working as a part of a strong team. You have excellent presentation and communication skills, as well as an enthusiasm for and interest in interior design, products, materials and manufacturing processes. You have an eye for detail, the ability to understand customers’ ideas and needs and convert them to competitive solutions in close collaboration with the customer. Your accomplished time management skills give you the ability to prioritise tasks and work under tight deadlines.
On a personal level, you have a positive and self-driven personality, and you love working with design, as well as growing the sales and relationships with customers. You enjoy, and are motivated by, doing both canvas sales and working with long-term projects. You are a strong service-minded team player with a positive outlook that motivates you to make your challenges a success focused on finding solutions and identifying possibilities.
