Digital Marketeer at Milkshake Festival
Milkshake Festival was founded over a decade ago and takes place yearly in the wonderful Westerpark in the heart of Amsterdam. At Milkshake HQ, we work year round to create the best festival experience for our loyal fans. Milkshake Festival is meant ‘For All Who Love’ and we wish to create and give a platform to (performance) artists who belong to underrepresented groups who are not yet wholly accepted in our society. To us, life is a party thanks to the great diversity of skin colors, body shapes, sexual preferences and gender identities. Thick, thin, small, large, gay, straight, trans, black, white, and everyone in between: people are the salt of the earth and that is what we celebrate!
Our office is situated at the heart of the Westerpark, and we work year-round with a team of eight. We have some cool plans lined up for the future, and that’s why our team needs to expand! Needless to say, we carry diversity and inclusion in our hearts, and we take care in creating a work culture that allows us all to thrive.
About the job
We are looking for a Digital Marketeer to come join the marketing team. In your role, you are responsible for our digital marketing strategy across several platforms. Ideally, you have worked in a similar role in a consumer-facing organization, and you know your way around in online communication. You will focus on social media marketing (paid/organic), e-mail marketing, SEO-optimization and the implementation of various tracking, reporting and data analysis tools.
Your main tasks
- Creating and analyzing digital campaigns
- Connecting these campaigns to long-term content strategies across all platforms
- Creating and monitoring KPI’s for our online channels
- Managing budgets for the online channels
- Sharing your insights with the marketing team
- You are the first point of contact for all external partners such as advertising partners and web developers
- Researching new marketing opportunities and presenting these to the team

First and foremost, it is crucial that you understand and support our mission. You are comfortable working in a queer environment, and you know and appreciate queer culture. We are looking for a team player who knows how to keep track of their own targets and deadlines, and who feels comfortable in a high-paced environment. If you love festivals, that would be great.
When it comes to skills, there are a couple of key factors that make you the ideal candidate. We are looking for someone who is experienced in digital marketing, and who knows their way around tools such as Google Analytics, Meta Business Manager, Braze et cetera. Terms such as dark ads, CPM, CTR, A/B testing, lookalike audiences are not new to you. If you don’t know all of them, that’s not a problem. But just to be clear: we áre looking for someone who is like really, really into the back-end stuff. Data is your friend, and you know how to use it to help us reach our goals fast and efficient. You can speak and write Dutch and English (sufficiently enough to communicate with non-Dutch speakers).
In high season, we incidentally work extra hours. We do this collectively, because we’re all responsible for a great result.

We will supply you with all the digital tools and hardware needed to excel on the job. Besides working, we create time to connect as a team and to socialize. For a fulltime function, we offer 24 holidays. Besides the calendar of public holidays, we honor Keti Koti and close the office on July 1st. Once a year, we organize a team trip.
