About the job
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Assistant to join our team. As the Financial Assistant, you will play a crucial role in managing our financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all financial transactions in our team.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for financial inquiries from members and our team.
- Review all incoming invoices on a weekly basis and maintain awareness of all agreements to identify any discrepancies.
- Maintain an overview of all income and expenses for each department (restaurant, events, banqueting, etc.) to track financial performance.
- Stay informed about contractual agreements and contract expiration dates, and monitor them closely.
- Monitor budgets and alert the team if, for example, procurement costs are too high or if excessive purchases are noticed without corresponding figures in the financial records.
- Attend team meetings to align financial goals with weekly/monthly/yearly targets and provide concrete figures to support those goals.
- Demand and manage financial data from various teams (kitchen, events, etc.) at the end of each week, including forecasts for the following week, to establish a routine of financial tracking as part of weekly operations.
- Proficient in Exact, Lightspeed, and other relevant systems, with an analytical approach to generate accurate reports. Have a good understanding of VAT percentages and related aspects.
- Prior experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in a hotel, restaurant, or similar environment, is highly desirable.

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a financial or administrative role.
- Experience in the hospitality industry, particularly in a hotel, restaurant, or similar setting, is preferred.
- You live in Amsterdam or close by.
- Proficiency in Exact, Lightspeed, and other relevant financial systems.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
