About the job

We are looking for an ambitious, experienced, and energetic Commercial Director for two exceptional hotels in Amsterdam – Kimpton De Witt and Pulitzer Amsterdam. As Commercial Director, you create and execute the strategic commercial plan for the two hotels whilst leading a team of motivated sales, events and reservations professionals. Being part of the Lore Regional Leadership team, you are partly responsible for the overall strategic direction region wide.

As the Commercial Director, you drive our growth strategy by developing revenue generating tactics and targets, in line with the brand strategy. You ensure these annual strategies are translated into concrete actions plans for our sales, events and reservations teams to meet or exceed revenue targets. You will have a broad responsibility for our commercial capabilities, ranging from developing the commercial strategy, identifying new revenue streams, coaching and inspiring the team, optimizing workflows and building connections with key partners.

Together with the Directors of Marketing, PR & Revenue, you proactively position and market both hotels by creating and managing the strategy and budget to enable development of hotel specific campaigns, promotions and collateral. You monitor worldwide travel trends and changes and act accordingly with global, international and local commercial initiatives. You coach and lead the commercial team to build long-term, value-based customer relationships that enables the achievement of the commercial objectives of Pulitzer Amsterdam and Kimpton De Witt.

As a member of the Lore Regional Leadership team, you develop and implement region and hotel–wide strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the guests and employees.

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Director

  • Minimum bachelor degree in hospitality management or equal relevant education;
  • At least 5 year experience as Director of Sales in a high end, preferably luxury hotel environment;
  • Experience in leading (commercial) teams of more than 10 people;
  • Extensive experience in commercial strategy planning;
  • Strong customer development and relationship management skills;
  • Understanding of hotel operations and potential challenges for hospitality businesses;
  • Ability to evaluate business trends and modify business strategies accordingly;
  • Ability to creatively execute the strategy and drive results;
  • Skills to influence others.
