Nxt Museum is the first museum in the Netherlands dedicated to New Media Art. We are passionate about art, technology, science and innovation and are on a mission to push the boundaries of what a museum can be.

About the job

Does crafting content to inspire, amuse, educate and entice our community around new media art, our exhibitions and events programme excite you? If Social Media is your playground and delivering a content calendar, producing content - from creating or shooting assets to crafting the copy - is your jam, then we would love to hear from you. This role is responsible for the delivery of organic content for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Email. 

What would a week in the life of Nxt Museum’s Social Media & Email Marketeer look like?

You’ll be:

  • Gaining in-depth knowledge of Nxt Museums’ social platforms and brand tone of voice, our customer personas and marketing goals, calendar of events and exhibitions 
  • Developing and maintaining our content calendar for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and email newsletters
  • Executing the post plan, according to the calendar - including:
  1. Shooting content from your phone or collating the relevant assets
  2. Utilising Nxt’s branded templates in Adobe to produce visual assets for posts/tweets/emails
  3. Writing engaging, witty or informative copy for posts/tweets/email newsletters 
  4. Manage the day-to-day posting of content via Later
  5. Engaging with the community on those channels
  • Identifying new content themes that will help strengthen our position as the home of new media art 
  • Joining inter-team meetings to be briefed with Nxt’s new exhibition/events/campaigns and delivering a socials content plan accordingly
  • Updating the marketing team on the week-ahead’s post schedule: what’s going live when, copy sign offs and new content ideas
  • Harnessing audience and social platform data and insights to optimise your content plan
  • Keeping a regular pulse on social media trends, key dates and conversations in art, tech and global affairs, that might inform new content themes
  • Ensuring the Nxt brand and tone of voice is clearly articulated across these social media channels, acting as a brand guardian. Ensure we are fresh and ahead of the curve in our content offering

Role requirements:

  • You have previous experience in this field and can share examples of previous work 
  • You love writing and are competent at crafting a variety of shorter form socials-savy copy
  • As a creative person, you’re confident shooting material of our exhibitions or live at events on a phone
  • Marketing principles and best-practices for social posts and content is something you’re familiar with
  • You have experience in planning according to timelines and deadlines
  • You’re prepared to occasionally attend events at Nxt Museum outside usual working hours, to shoot and post content live, capturing the happenings and sharing with our community.
